Frequently Asked Questions

Since March last year we have been working hard to adhere to Government Guidelines.
Please read our points below to know we take your safety very seriously.

Whilst we are in Tier 4 we will continue to gather online only but as the tiers lower we will be back in our Church building.
We realise that not everyone is ready to attend in-person yet.  No worries — you can continue worshiping with us online.

I’m not comfortable returning to church yet. Can I continue to be a part of the online Church?

Of course! We encourage you to continue joining us online each weekend until you feel comfortable attending in person. Our weekend worship experiences will continue to be on Facebook and YouTube. 

Will I need to wear a mask?

In accordance with Government guidelines we are required to wear a face covering whilst indoors. We ask that everyone comes ready to enter the building with their face covering on.

Will we be limiting the capacity of their buildings?

Yes, as per Government guidelines - when we are lower than tier 4 we will have a maximum of 50 people in attendance. 

How will River Church practice social distancing in its locations?

Our rows of seat are 2 metres apart and there are two metres between each household.

How are we cleaning our facilities? 

We are cleaning doing extra cleaning after our services but also if we run two services we will be cleaning between gatherings to ensure proper sanitation. One toilet can be used and will undergo routine cleaning.. Additionally, hand sanitiser stations are located throughout the Church.

Will we be screening those who attend in person?

Temperature checks will be required for all everyone who enters the building. We ask everyone to use good judgment: if you are feeling ill or have a family member who is feeling ill, please stay home and participate in our online experience.

I’m new to River Church, how do I get connected?

If you haven’t already, click on "I’m new" and take some time and share your contact info with us on the form. We would love to get connected with you. You can find us on social media - there are links at the bottom of this page or you can find us by  by just searching River Church Banff. 

Will Kids Rock be available for my children?

Whilst we are restricted in our numbers we won’t be having any in person Children's services.

Are service times changing at Church?

Our services will continue to be at 10.30am on Sundays. We may have to run two services in the future and they may be at 10am and 12pm

Is there an experience for my youth age children?

We are currently working on getting our youth ministry - Rush 121 back up and running. This will be online until further notice.

How can I continue giving?

During this time, we will not passing an offering basket; however, we do encourage digital giving. Check out our giving options by clicking the GIVE tab at the top of this page.

What is River Church doing during this time to serve the community?

As always, we’re committed to serving and supporting our community. We have managed to keep our food bank open throughout the entire last year of the pandemic. We are so thankful for our volunteers that have continued to serve this vital support.
